General Info: Kailua-Kona real estate is one of the hottest markets on the Big Island of Hawaii. Along the beautiful mountain slopes and down by the ocean, there are many different and diverse residential neighborhoods and condominium complexes. Subdivisions such as Kona Palisades just up above the Keahole-KonaInternationalAirport, Kailua View Estates close to town and condos such as The Islander Inn or the ocean front Kona Reef.

Located on the west side of the island, the Kona coastline holds some of the most popular blue marlin fishing grounds in the world. And don't forget about Kona coffee!  Kailua-Kona is home to the famous Ironman Triathlon, where athletes come from all over the world to test themselves against the environment - and the competition. Honokohau Harbor hosts an array of charter fishing operations, dive and snorkel boats, and a wonderful restaurant where you can taste some of the best, freshest local fish and seafood. 

If surfing is for you, locations such as Banyan Tree, Pine Trees or Magic Sands might be the location you’re after. Or, the area known as "The Old Airport" with its walking paths and beach access. Further down the road is KahaluuBeachPark with easy access to the water and a great location with the kids. Just south of town is the famous Kealakekua Bay with the Captain CookMonument. Just up the hill is picturesque Holulaloa with dramatic views of the coastline, and an active artists’ community.

To the north is the KohalaCoast, also known as “The Gold Coast”, which boasts world-class golf courses and resorts such as the Mauna Lani Resort, the HiltonWaikoloaVillage, the Mauna Kea Resort and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Hualalai Golf Club at the Four Seasons Resort hosts the prestigious Senior PGA Tour MasterCard Championship in January.  From Kailua-Kona, you can drive to the popular HawaiiVolcanoesNational Park, where you can visit Kilauea - Hawaii's active volcano. On the summit of Mauna Kea, which rises almost 14,000 feet above sea level, you’ll find the world’s largest observatory for optical, infrared, and submillimeter astronomy.
