Market Statistics & Current Median Price Information for Kailua-Kona:

For June 2008, the median home price for Kailua-Kona Real Estate (North Kona) was $505,000.

South Kona had a median price range of $525,000.

The median residential price for the entire Big Island overall was $299,000.

Remember, the lower priced properties on the east side of the island, and in the southern part of the Big Island tend to lower the over-all median price for Big Island real estate.

General Info: Kailua-Kona real estate is one of the hottest markets on the Big Island of Hawaii. To the north is the Kohala Coast, also known as “The Gold Coast”, which boasts world-class golf courses and resorts such as the Mauna Lani Resort, the Hilton Waikoloa Village, the Mauna Kea Resort and the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Hualalai Golf Club at the Four Seasons Resort hosts the prestigious Senior PGA Tour MasterCard Championship in January.  From Kailua-Kona, you can drive to the popular Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where you can visit Kilauea - Hawaii's active volcano. On the summit of Mauna Kea, which rises almost 14,000 feet above sea level, you’ll find the world’s largest observatory for optical, infrared, and submillimeter astronomy.
